Well we are branching out, what do you think of these. No 2 exactly alike, the problem is I want to keep them all. These are my sheep, but just wait till you see all the others. Amanda has some awesome ideas for some really edgy and even a little controversial stitch markers. Kinda funny really, can you imagine flipping someone off while never taking your hands off your knitting...she found a way. LOL Don't think they will ever make it into a store.
We have been so busy, and have had a house full of people. I love it, the daughter in college is home for the summer (Amanda's little sister, so my other step-daughter) she is working most of the time so I don't see her to much. This last w/e her bf came and stayed too, so lots of folks here. We had a great time. This coming fri. my baby is going on her summer trip and she will be gone for 3 weeks, don't know what I will do. I hate it when she leaves, but guess I will get a lot done while she is gone. BUT while taking her to AR I get to spend the day with my new knitting buddy and I am going to get to stop into the new knitting store Stringtown. http://stringtownyarn.com/ I can't wait. I will let you know how it goes.

Feeling Loopy

We've done it! Loops, an amazing little yarn store in Tulsa, wants to carry our yarn! We're so excited.... We met with Shelley last Friday, and in a couple weeks, Tempted Hand Painted Yarn will be on her shelves. We've got a lot of work to do until then. Loops will be the only store in Oklahoma to carry Tempted, so whatever colors she wants will not be available online. However, we've been coming up with a ton of new colorways, and hope to have some more up on Etsy soon. She also wants us to make "sock weenies" kits. They'll include a pattern and enough yarn for a teeny sock ornament. Personally, I'd make them into crazy earrings.

In other news, we've got so many awesome Names for That Yarn that we've decided to end the contest on June 1 instead of July. If you still have some good ideas, let us know before then.

As to my personal life, my husband has decided that he wants another bassett hound. There's one at the animal shelter around here. I'm gonna sneak down there and have Billy at home when my hubby gets back. Billy -- he wants to name it Billy. So we'll be up to 3 dogs and a turtle named Ralphie. (It's short for Raphael, the Ninja Turtle....) So that's it. Besides the socks that have taken me almost twice as long as my first pair. I have an awesome pattern idea, and I'll let you know when I'm done.

Keep reading.... we expect more good things very soon.

While you were thinking....

Now don't forget to Name That Yarn, but here's a little something else to consider. I've started on my Punk Junkie socks, and they're looing great! The colors are so bright that I decided to straight knit them. They are still some of the coolest socks that a 77-year-old lady could ever hope to get for her birthday! I swear, "Funkytown" gets stuck in my head everytime I work on them. About the Mystery Yarn, the contest is going great! Here's a new picture for you all. Maybe the colors will come out better in this one. We've had a lot of you suggest more patriotic names, and were wanting to make sure you could tell it's blue and orange. Anyway, we have already decided that it's going to be a hard decision. You all are so very creative! So feel free to keep sending us your ideas, and we'll keep you updated. Rock on!

Let's Play "Name that Yarn"

We have decided to have a contest! The goal is to come up with an awesome new name for this skein of Luxury Sock Yarn. It is 75% superwash wool and 25% nylon and has 460 yds, plenty for a pair of socks even for really big feet. Ha Ha The winner will get this skein plus shipping! Entries accepted beginning immediately, leave your entry in the comments. Winner to be announced July 1 2007. Good Luck!

Stacy's Current Projects

Happy Mothers Day!
Well 1st pic is the sock I am currently working on and the second pic a the shawl that I am working on. The sock is an awesome colorway, we never even put this one up on Etsy because it is too close to some of the other colorways. I love it, love the way the colors move around, they just seem to float around the sock.
Big story with the shawl, it is a great honor to be asked to knit this shawl. If you have read previous posts here you might have read about a wonderful women and friend who passed away earlier this year, Bette. Well her grand-daughter is getting married on June 2ND and this shawl will be wore to that wedding by one of Bette's daughters. All of the yarn is from Bette and one of them is hand spun by Bette. I am very pleased to have been given this opportunity to do something for those she loved the most.

Amanda vs. Socks round 2

Well, they're done! My OCD has beaten the living hell out of my habitual procrastination, and now there are two more socks in the world.... I'm so proud! I've decided to give them as a Mother's Day present instead of Christmas. Seems appropriate enough. (That's Stacy's leg, by the way.) On the home front, it's been raining for like a week now and the dogs are so disgusting! Everytime they go out to potty, they come back covered in mud. Mostly the basset hound. I guess it's because he so low to the ground the mud just jumps up onto his belly. (It can smell stupid, you know.) Okay, really, so here's the deal: I'm an addict. I made something and now I want to do it again. I can just see myself being the old lady with the socks. On her hundreds of cats. Except I'm allergic to cats, so maybe just stuffed animals that look like cats. I've already chosen my next pair. I do massage at a nursing home, and one woman I do touch therapy with has a birthday coming up. She'll be 73 in June, and she wants some bright socks. I'm going to make her some Punk Junkie socks. She'll love them. Well, it's off to knit the world. And dye more yarn. Oh, and we have a new colorway now! It's called 1985, and it's so bright; I love it! (It's the year I was born, by the way, so I'm biased.) But I'll keep you all updated. Maybe one of these days I'll make something for me.

One bag full

Now you can see why she is one of my favorite people. We had a very nice lunch and chat, too short of course. Think we could have talked for hours, why is it we never have time to sit and chat with friends? Still waiting for the next yarn shipment to get here then we will have to get to work again. I figure next week will be extremely busy, i have at least 3 meetings and will have to do a bunch of dyeing then there is also the garden to work on. I'm getting tired just thinking about it all. Hopefully our yarn will keep shipping our the door, and then we will get more new and interesting colors. Well dinner is going to burn if I don't get in there, I'm no good at multi-tasking. Stacy

Waiting Waiting Waiting

I have been spinning this beautiful Corridale roving, wanted it to be a blanket coat from 'Scottish Inspirations' but don't think there will be enough....wahhhhh Well just got a call from my fleece woman (one of my favorite people) and we are going to meet. So I gotta go will write more later.---Stacy
