The great outdoors

I am really looking forward to picking the veggies out of the garden. Think I should give this little guy a little bit more time though. I have already had some fresh peas and tomatos, yum yum.

I am sharing all this out of pure excitement. The wonderful, encouraging, productive and well just plain amazing Miss Violet has recently started a new group. The Plukette Hencircle and I am very excited about being a part of it. This is all associated with Mary Janes Farm, farmgirl sisterhood which after reading about it I think I may very well join. I ordered some books and am now a subscriber to the magazine. I expect that this opportunity to be a part of the Plurkette Hencircle will be a very rewarding and encouraging. Heck everything the Miss Violet gets us all into is rewarding and fulfilling....oh you know she encouraged you to buy yarn, start spinning, or make something wonderful (well at least start it..lol). I can't imagine it but if you don't know who Miss Violet is she is one of the amazing women that put up the Lime n' Violet Podcast. One of the great knitting related podcasts out there.

I do love my farmgirl lifestyle and know that I am very lucky to get to live here and be the woman I like to be. No keeping up with the neighbors out here. LOL
I stuck this pic in for Lynne E., more of those wide open spaces.

Sunny Sunday

I did it I finally finished my Mystic Light Shawl. I can't tell you how much I like it, the color is great the pattern is beautiful and best of all I can wear it now.
"Rainy Day"
I did get to play in the dye a bit yesterday and this is what I came up. You should see it sparkle in the sunshine. I really enjoyed working on this one and really the pic doesn't do it justice.

Late update on Tuesdays Knitting...

Isn't Del the cutest!!! She has her pattern, her coffee and was a happy lady. She finished a sock btw.
UNTIL....... Kaye stole her other shoe and hid it. You thought they were just sweet little gray ladies huh.... Kaye made her run around hunting her shoe for probably 10 minutes. All I could do was sit, laugh and of course take a picture.
Something that you will never see again...Kaye at a computer. As you can see there is a reason she doesn't return emails, she hates the computer. That's why I get away with talking so much about her and showing her pics all the time, cause she never looks at it. LOL
Night time lightening..... I stood on the front step for at least 30minutes and this is the best pic I got. To bad you couldn't have been there, it was truly beautiful.

Ok I have a ton more to show you so there will probably be another post today..... what a deal huh?

Saturday, without rain (maybe)

Ok I have finished the Handspun Toe-ups. I know they aren't any beautiful pattern but that is by design. I spun this yarn with a tight twist and plied with a tight twist and they are going to be a very functional and very warm. I am so pleased with how they came out. I began spinning it while at the Loopy Ewe's Spring Fling, so it did take me a while to get them finished but I have been pretty busy dyeing 2 large orders.
Several weeks ago I showed you the first single from the 'Frog Footman' colorway from the Dyeing Arts. I have to admit that I have a stash now of about 6 roving's from her. I love what she does!! Anyway this is the finished yarn. Now which one will be next????

Oh and I have to show you Emily's prize in the Official Lucy fan club contest on Ravelry. Actually this is only half of her prize, she also won a free pattern, she chose the Twisted Logic sock pattern. Ambitious little girl huh.. what do you want to bet I get ordered to make the socks sometime in the future. LOL

Maggie Sefton in Tulsa

Maggie Sefton is on a book tour and made a stop in Tulsa yesterday. I have been very busy with a big order for Loops and yesterday morning I was delivering it. While there Maggie stopped in for a visit, it was wonderful to get to meet her and listen to her tell of her writing. I was most impressed by her attitude towards my little aspiring author, she stopped everything and looked straight in Emily's eyes and spoke directly to her encouraging her. When we left and were in the car Emily was so happy and excited about everything that Maggie had said to her. She remembered every word. She has also been writing in her journal all day today and most of last night.
The signing last evening, Em was so pleased with her inscription. It is wonderful to see her so inspired. Thank you Maggie!!
For all of those who were at the Spring Fling and saw me spinning..... well these made from the Lorna's Laces wooltop in the pioneer colorway. I do love them, I put quite a bit of twist in the singles and in the ply, I wanted a very durable and strong yarn. The fabric they are making is very sturdy but still very soft. I am really enjoying them. Thanks to L-B's quick math skills I was able to turn the heel without a pattern, what on earth would I do without all my wonderful knitting friends.

Meme and a little cuteness

Well I was tagged for this meme by Meagan

The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

"Coral Reef"
I know you have seen it before but this one is in the Good Grrl yarn and it takes the color differently, a little more vibrant.

Well Kaye is off with the family and so Del and I met at her place did a little knitting and watched the kids play in the pool. It was a very nice way to spend the day. Nothing like a good friend, nothing at all.

Del's, daughters puppies, so so so cute I just had to post the picture. Of course if Del tries to talk my DD into taking one home again I may have to get mean. LOL They are precious but we do not need a puppy, no matter how much my DD would like to. However I will tell you that one of these little guys is still looking for a new home. They are about 10 weeks old and are 1/2 Caviler King Charles and 1/2 Yorkie, and are located in NE Oklahoma.
