This morning in Oklahoma!!

Isn't this beautiful!

I love clouds! There were a couple of tornado warnings but it is still so beautiful.

I finished Clue 1 of the Mystic Light KAL. I have had such a wonderful time knitting on this, spent all day Saturday and Sunday watching all the Harry Potter movies and knitting. Loved it, very easy and relaxing way to spend the weekend.
Teal and Blues. No name yet. Any suggestions?

I want to say thank you all of you lurkers who stepped out and posted a comment, I am impressed and you are all more witty then I am. Don't stop now you are on a roll.

What would I do without good friends? Probably sit and cry. If it wasn't for friends I wouldn't have know that today is my Blogiversery!!! So this blog has been up and running for a year today. Pretty cool, can't say I had any idea what I would be doing a year later, of course wondering if I would still be selling yarn. It has had it's ups and down and luckily more ups then downs.
I spent my day dyeing more yarn and BFL. This one I don't know what I am going to call it yet but I really think it is beautiful. The picture is not at all doing it justice. The teal is so deep, well I just can't describe how amazing it is. The blues are actually 2 different colors but they are much closer then I thought they would be. A very vibrant and intense color.
I also spent a lot of my time knitting on the Mystic Light shawl. I am very happy with how it is coming along. Maybe I can get it done by tomorrow, well the 1st clue anyway.

It's Spring!!

"Tangerine Dream"
"Kandy Kisses"

Got a little dyeing done today. What do ya think, don't they make you think of Spring. Yesterday it got up to 80 degrees and I swear all the trees sprouted leaves, hadn't seen any till mid afternoon. The daffodils have all popped out of the ground. I even got one brought to me by a sweet little boy (Dells grandson), he is learning early only 2 and already bringing the girls flowers. Anyway I was feeling like playing in the Spring colors so here is my first offering. I will be loading them onto Etsy in a few minutes.

I originally did Moondance for L-B for her Mystic Light shawl, but hers is in the Glam yarn and these are in the Bad Grrl yarn. Since every monitor shows up a little different I will give you a little description. Moondance is a periwinkle that begins dark and fades to a very light color. Tangerine Dream is not orange it's more of a Coral color. And Kandy Kisses is PINK.....Robin did you see this????

My Mystic Light Shawl so far. I am on the 37th row and I am really enjoying it. I have not taken part in all the chatting about it on the yahoo group but I sure do enjoy reading what everyone else is writing.

That brings up a thought and I bet I am not the only person out there that feels this way. With all the incredible witty and creative people out there I am always so nervous leaving comments. What if they think I was being mean instead of funny or if I just sound stupid. If you are like me and get nervous about leaving comments just keep reading and not commenting I am right there with you. Funny I am totally self conscious of writing here too. That's why I don't do it as often as I should.

I have an apology to all of you that I have shipped out yarn to in the last 2 days. I shipped so much out that the post mistress gave me a big official box to bring them in with. Anyway I was in such a rush to get everything out to you all that I skipped my usual note and little extra (which I am out of anyway). Please know that I am as grateful as ever and love you all.

Thank you all!

Yarn arrived!!!!!

I have been very busy dyeing up a bunch of yarn since the order of the Glam Grrl yarn came in late Monday. I was all ready to get busy Tuesday and then the Baby Girl got sick and I had to take her to the Dr. and since our Dr. is an hour away it pretty much took all day. No dyeing on Tuesday. So yesterday I spent all day dyeing and am pretty happy to announce that I got quite a bit done. I feel a lot better having that behind me. Whewwwww. More to do this
weekend but at least I am closer to finishing some projects then I was before.
I have got to tell a little story. Monday I was in the car on my way to the Post Office when my cell phone rang. I didn't recognize the number it was from another area code. I answered and I heard a female voice say " WOWZER"! I was a little hopeful, and in mild disbelief that it might just be who I was hoping it was. I asked who it was and she said "Guess"..... I took a deep breath and said (screamed really) L-B!!!!! Yep, it was her the real live L-B. She had asked if I could dye up something special for her to use in the Mystic Light KAL . Well she had received it and was pleased. Honestly I can't remember much of the conversation, I was so nervous and excited bet I talked and talked. I can not tell you how excited I am to have received a call from THE L-B. She is such an amazing person. I have grown very fond of her in such a short time. Hope I didn't embarrass myself too much, I was a little star struck.

"Just Plain Tacky"
This colorway will only be done this time. Not sure I could do it again. It is Blue with Lime Green to Neon Yellow resists. I only made 3 and just posted them on Etsy, it's pretty wild.
This is a nameless yarn as of yet. It was a custom job for Julie a wonderful women who has become a friend through the miracle that is Ravelry. She is planning to use it for the Mystic Light KAL. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Next time I will post pictures of my Mystic Light.

Happy Easter

"Mistress BFL"
"Ivy, High Voltage and Frolic"

Going going and almost gone. Only 1 left, wow...oops I was wrong all gone.

I spent some time this week playing in the BFL top. I must admit that although I have spun Merino, Angora, Mohair, Corridale, and Alpaca I have never had the pleasure of spinning BFL. I am spending some of this weekend spinning up the remainder of the bunny I started around Thanksgiving. I have made myself promise to do no other spinning till it is plyed!

Still working on my Casablanca sweater it is moving along. Have done a bit of dyeing mostly playing around with new colorways. I am really having a pretty good time playing in the dye and fiber.
I hope you are all having a wonderful Easter Sunday!

Hi ho hi ho, off to work (play) i go.

I got a bunch of the very popular 'Eclipse' dyed over the weekend. I had hoped it would be at Loops today but hadn't really thought about them having time to dry well. So they will be there tomorrow, thank you to all of you have been contacting Loops to pre-order. I do try to get things done as quickly as I can.

"Almost Ragdoll Diva"
For all of you who are loyal Wendy Knits readers, I thought I had been very busy dyeing up 'Ragdoll Diva'. This batch was going out to The Loopy Ewe . Now I am not sure exactly where they will go, I just noticed that I screwed up and didn't put the gray in this one. I am feeling so terrribly stupid right now.
I am taking some pre-orders for the real 'Ragdoll Diva' at if you don't want to take a chance on losing it at TLE but I wouldn't worry about that I can always make more.

This is the tease... to be shipped out later this week to The Loopy Ewe . Many of them will look a lot different after they are re-skeined. I am very happy with how they are all turning out. I have included 'Heart of the Heather', 'Soxy', and 'Ragdoll Diva'. I hope that it will redeem me. Doesn't look like a thing has sold at TLE in weeks :( oh well that's the way it goes.

Bet you all think I don't knit anymore, lol. I am working on 'Casablanca' from Romantic Hand Knits by Annie Modesitt. I am going to try to get it finished by the Spring Fling. Wish I could knit as fast as Wendy does!!

Got to go Shopping !!!!

It is Spring break around here and I had to drive my dd over to spend the week in TN. The only real good thing about this is that I get to stop by Ft.Smith AR and get to go shopping at Stringtown . Best of all I get to see Elabeth, she is an amazing friend and I just love getting to see her every once in a while. She is a very accomplished knitter and knows just about everything there is to know about yarn and fiber. I swear I have learned more about knitting, spinning and dyeing from her then just about anyone else. If you get the chance to, go by cause it's an awesome shop.

Me and Elabeth!!!!

Isn't this the cutest!!! Awesome furniture and lots of great yarn.

Speaking of great yarn, I have to admit I really like this one. I named it 'High Voltage' it really lives up to it's name. Very loud, would look awesome with some see thru Converse shoes. I gotta get a pair of those for myself.

Guess what I did today (2 days ago)

I have to say that Shellie posed under duress. However I thought she looked fine and the newly designed hand painted yarn wall looks AWESOME!!

I try to go down to Loops every month when it's time to ship out the sock club yarns. That is where I was today. Wow there are a lot of you!!! Thank you so much for having so much faith in me. It means a lot more then you know. It was incredible to write out all the names and addresses, I was amazed to see how many names I already know. It made me so happy to see so many familiar names. If you haven't made yourself known to me, come on send me an email or friend me on Ravelry I am 'Tempted' (original I know). There is also a Tempted Sock Clubbers group on Ravelry, come and join. Start a cool thread that everyone will want to chat about, lol, I never manage to get those started. It doesn't have to be about Tempted, I know the Mod and she is real lenient about topics. lol

We really had a nice day stuffing big envelopes full of the first installment of the Tempted Sock Club #2. I will tell you that all the Turquoise you see there is paper not yarn.

I do have to show off one of the newest yarns available at Loops 'Eclipse'. I have to say this was an immediate hit. I love it and am seriously considering using it for the Mystic Lights KAL . Anyone else going to do this KAL??

This is a special order for the Mystic Lights KAL, I
just had to show it off. The silver isn't showing up in the picture but it has the same beautiful shinny bits in it. I named it Moonlight, I think it fits well. I have done a few other special dye jobs for this KAL but one of them may be a surprise in the future so I am not showing it YET. When I do a custom job that requires more then one skein I always dye them together so that they will match perfectly. I can't wait to see how it knits up!!

3 Yarns

"RagDoll Diva"

"Soxy Wendy"

Many have found there way to my blog thanks to the wonderful and amazing Wendy. I must tell the story about how I came to making some special colorways for Wendy.

It all started in January 20 when Wendy had a contest about a sock she was working on. I received 3 emails and one phone call from friends, all very excited to notify me that my yarn is the one she chose for the contest sock. Wow I had no idea she even had any Tempted yarn. Knowing that she had purchased my yarn and chose to use it for a contest where the prize was a skein of the highly prized Wollmeise was quite an honor. I have to admit it was very exciting but when I contacted her to say thank you, she was so gracious, kind and encouraging that I just couldn't leave her with just an email Thank you. A few days later the Temptation Toe-up sock pattern appeared on Wendy's site and I couldn't have been more proud.

"Heart of the Heather"

While this was all happening I got the pleasure and honor of receiving a message on Ravelry from THE L-B one of Wendy's good friends. Wow she is amazing and such a wonderful person. I started talking about my desire to thank Wendy for picking my yarn for a pattern. I asked her advice on what Wendy and Lucy (Wendy's cat, for those who may not know) might like. What colors would work, could she describe Wendy and Lucy to me, and maybe colors would come forward from her descriptions. It was L-B who told me that she believed Lucy probably knows very well that she is the Diva of the WendyKnits show. LOL She was an amazing help and so very encouraging always . She answered every question and came up with wonderful ideas. It didn't take long for me to realize that without L-B this would never be a success. She would have to have her own colorway as well. So I started to talk to Wendy and get ideas and advice on what L-B might like. Again Wendy was so helpful. I got very sneaky about it by asking each of them to keep everything a secret. They each thought they were the only one helping (insert wicked little laugh). Then I met another friend of both of theirs (A), and now I had an accomplice. She helped a great deal and kept my secret. Without Wendy's friends and Wendy's help it never could have happened.

While preparing the yarn I found a wonderful Etsy artist Wee Ones . She makes some incredible little stitch markers. I ordered some Ragdoll kitties for Wendy. I made several special requests including Yorkies for my friend Dell and Dobermans for Kaye but the big special request was a specific dog for L-B. Wee Ones did not disappoint, L-B's little puppy stitch markers where a perfect little miniature of the real puppy. Oh and I did get myself and another friend, Lynn who you may have seen here before, markers as well. I got little Maltese dogs and Lynn got a variety of colored kitties.

I finally got my little care packages together and sent them out at the same time. They both received them on the same day. It was incredible I was getting simultaneous messages from both of them. I really enjoyed knowing that they where both happy with what they had received. It has been an incredible pleasure to be able to get to know and create something for people who are such an amazing inspiration.

Thank you Wendy, L-B and A you are all amazing women!

Brand new and I broke it!!!

Isn't this beautiful? Within days of receiving this beautiful Teapot I managed to break it! All I tried to do is wash it and it slipped in the soap and cracked. That's what I get for buying a glass teapot. Oh but I have managed to buy a bunch of wonderful teas. Mint, chamomile, vanilla, chai, and tonics I love them all. I have been stashing teas almost as excitedly as I do yarn, almost. It's really funny that a tea company came up with the perfect name, Stash.

Little shopping, little knitting

I have gotten some knitting done in the last few weeks. I mentioned in an earlier post the Kaye, Dell and I are all working on the Pagoda Lace Socks. Well this is my first of my Pagoda's well not really mine they have already been claimed by my baby girl.

OK now for the shopping I bought some Posh Yarn from The Loopy Ewe. The colorway is Danger.

These have got to be the most wonderful little stitch-markers EVER. I found these on Etsy, weeones. This is my little Maltese.

She made these by request. I needed Yorkies for Dell, Dobermans for Kaye, and a very special request for another friend that has very recently adopted a little Aussie pup. I sent her pictures of the pup and she did not let me down, they were perfect. If you get the chance go check out her work.
I will write more soon, I have so much to tell and so little time to tell it. I will let you know that I am very busy with a few big orders and of course the first month of the Tempted Sock Club.
